Two adults, two boys, and one big mess of a life.

We’re on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ (and we love it) but you should not take anything you see on this site as an official (or unofficial) CCC stance on anything, because it’s not.

I originally started a web-prescence with the goal of keeping family and friends and ministry partners updated with what is going on in our lives.  That was it.  The two-pronged goal was (1)putting enough baby photos online to appease grandparents who lived hours away and (2)putting enough information about our ministry online to appease ministry partners who want to know how God is using their financial and prayerful contributions.  So I committed to updating the blog at least 3 times per week.

As I was blogging about, a couple of things happened.  First, I learned how much I enjoy it.  It’s a creative, emotional, and intellectual outlet for me.  So what was originally intended to just be a way for folks to catch up with us became (secondly) a way to creatively process the world around me.  That became especially true when LB (our oldest son) had surgery at around 4 months old.  I found that the blog was a way for me to engage with the emotions that were swimming beneath the surface in my life.  That eventually turned into more posts about theological issues, more posts about current events, and even a couple of politically themed posts.  But one of my goals is to keep to the original goals.

So, here we are, trying to strike a balance between family updates (like the story of LB pooping in a swimmie diaper), ministry updates (like the time I used inappropriate facebook pages as a chance to reach students), and theological rants (like my personal hatred of “prosperity theology”)
